However, in this story, the romantic obsessions begin only based on a definite insistence on what the past has on the value of who the woman was.

Gordon’s motivation to find the woman was because of the desire to retrieve the documents that she has with regards the dead scientist. However, this desire went from a mere purpose to a distinct obsession as he began to read through the messages and letters of Anna. It was as if she was communicating to him from another time and her letters were somewhat making an impact on how he views her as a person rather than just an individual who have a connection to him because of a purpose he needed to complete.
