Essay

The possession of free will requires that two conditions are achieved. They include availability for possibilities that are genuinely open to the individual together with the choices that are not forced on the individual. The concept has important implications on the thinking of the world in people more so in the apportioning of praise as well as blame as well as in the identification of the moral responsibility for the actions of an individual (Ruggiero, 2008).

There are some conditions that are responsible for the diminish of the moral responsibility together with the blameworthiness. This leads to a situation in which individuals are less held morally responsible for their actions. This is in a situation that they may be under the influence of powerful medication to the extent of impacting unexpected effects on their psychology. This also applies in the situation of the young people who are not in a position of predicting on the consequences brought about by their actions. Another situation requiring eradication of the blame for actions is when a person is delirious or coerced, forced by a force that is physically superior in terms of superiority (Ruggiero, 2008).

However, since the list of the conditions of the excuses has continuously been growing longer in a steady manner as the years pass, there is a need for the adjustment in this scenario. It is therefore the responsibility of an individual to be morally responsible for the actions committed. This will be in disregard of the conditions of the excuses and every person has the right of choice between life and death (Ruggiero, 2008). The choice of life is considered as an immoral choice. The bearing of personal responsibility is the only way forward for the sake of progress.
