Pages: 1

Words: 346

Essay

The article at hand, Fukuyamas High/Low Trust Model, is able to give an authentic look inside the manner by which individuals are able to build more trust. The study that is shown throughout the article indicates that those individuals who state Trust menumerous times in their life soon prove to be untrustworthy to multiple individuals. On the contrary, for those individuals who say those same two words and process to show results are the ones who prove to be the most trustworthy. In a world where individuals have trouble trusting others nowadays, the article serves a true purpose in defining the manner by which individuals should learn to trust those who are able to produce effective results each and every day. In addition, the article goes on to explain that those corporations that have high trust between the employees invariably prove to be the most successful as opposed to the least successful low trust corporations. Something that was extremely interesting about this study is the fact those societies that have high trust systems prove to have the most political stability as well as the most economic prosperity. This is without question due to the fact that the majority of the individuals within the society trust one another to get jobs done effectively when expected. In low trust societies, this is often times difficult to obtain because of the fact that some or most individuals prove themselves to be unreliable and seldom get effective work done.

The manner through which this can be applied to my personal life is to learn which individuals are worth trusting and which would should not. The best takeaway from this article can be described by the ability for one to be able to become cognizant of how to differentiate between those individuals who should not be trusted and those who should. Furthermore, something that should be duly noted is that in order to achieve an effective society, the individuals within said community must first learn to trust each other.
