Information system in research and education

Information system serves a critical role in fostering the process of decision making in research and in education. The major aim of information system is offering the crucial assistance to decision making organs, educators and researchers through provision of precise as well as timely information that facilitates the right decisions in an environment of turbulence.  For an organization to achieve success in research, education and decision making, information systems must be considered as critical contributors in enhancing the work in progress and achievement of goals and intended benefits of the organization. Information system plays a crucial role in solving the structured as well as unstructured problems in the work place. The Information system must comprise of computers, databases, facilities, procedures and interactive query which in combination determines the success or failure of decision making in research and education in health care facilities (Pearson Custom Publishing & West Chester University, 2009)

The Information system at the disposal of organization management is a good source of knowledge pertaining to the relative position in an organization as well as the basic forces affecting employees. The relevant information requisite for the process of decision research and education is guaranteed thus facilitating for a smooth and effective process of control, operation functions as well as planning. Information system must therefore be maintained funded sufficiently in any organization to facilitate a smooth flow of information to support decision making in research and education in the process of planning for short and long term policies as well as budgeting (Nowduri, 2011). Information systems also facilitates automation of decision making in research and education to bring about a dynamic process of operations in the organization and maintenance of principles, propositions, strategies as well as ideas in the organization
