Global Issues and the Us Healthcare System, Coursework Example

Pages: 1

Words: 345

Coursework

Introduction

The healthcare system in the United States continues to experience many changes that require a significant presence and focus on global health issues of importance. All persons are impacted in some way by each other throughout the world (Milstead, 2013), and this is clearly evident with the current Ebola crisis in West Africa that has made its way to the United States. In this capacity, global health in some respects is a detriment to the people of the U.S. when they are directly impacted by the behaviors and actions taking place in other countries that have a general influence on health decision-making and outcomes (Milstead, 2013).

Analysis

Global health has a significant impact on many of the decisions that are made in U.S. healthcare organizations; therefore, these efforts must be considered in the context of their ability to impact outcomes throughout the world, using a think tank as a measure of progress and support for these endeavors (Council on Foreign Relations, 2014). Regardless of the issue, the United States plays a significant role in working with other nations to curb many different types of threats, including but not limited to infectious diseases (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2014). Global health issues impact healthcare in the United States because many Americans provide expert knowledge and support in other countries in order to prevent disease and promote greater health and wellbeing, and these efforts require an ongoing effort to minimize the risk to the American people (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2014).

Conclusion

Government-based objectives support global health and its impact on the United States, using expert resources and knowledge in order to ensure that global health threats are minimized as best as possible in order to prevent widespread outbreaks of infectious disease and other challenges that may impact global health and wellbeing (HealthyPeople.gov).
