Due to the fact that there are various kinds of children with different types of exceptionalities, goals and objectives differ from child to child. However, there are certain goals that all students with exceptionalities could share.

The first goal for a student with exceptionalities should be to talk to become more social. This goal would specifically help students with autism who may lack a somewhat social life. This students four objectives could be as follows: talk to a new person every day, ask questions in class, interact with friends during lunch time, and pushing oneself to get out of the comfort zone.         

The second goal for a student with exceptionalities should be to raise a letter grade each semester. In order to do this, study habits would differ. The objectives to achieve this goal would be as follows: study half an hour more every day, create flashcards in order to help with memorization, pay more attention in class, go to tutoring.

A third goal for a student with exceptionalities should be to become a stronger emotional person. This can be done by the following steps: learning about ones likes and dislikes, having friends who are nice, communicating effectively to avoid misunderstandings, and being able to know ones emotional limits.

A fourth goal that a student with exceptionalities should set is to become closer to his or her religion. This would help the individual cope with failure and understand the current circumstance he or she is undergoing. In order to accomplish this goal, a student with exceptionalities should do the following (regardless of what religion he or she is adherent to): pray everyday, ask for understanding, follow the religions rules, and learn to forgive.
