Good Leadership and Leader Qualities, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 317

Essay

Leadership is an essential component in the success of a company. Bad leadership may lead to a company to collapse in that there is no one to direct what the company requires. A company has the mandate of training its employees due to various reasons. One of the reasons is that every company is tailored according to the production it has and not every employee is skilled in relevance to the specific company. Leadership in an organization is based on inspiration and not intimidation, and this implies that employees need not be intimidated because they are not skilled to conform to the company’s needs. However, the companies need to allocate resources as a way of showing cooperation and inspiration to the employees. It should be noted that companies that allocate resources to train new and existing employees have the upper hand in ensuring that their production has increased. Based on this, it is to the benefit of the company if its leadership promotes cooperation to the employees, as it will increase productivity.

The leadership of a company should take the training of the employees as their responsibility, and this is based on the fact that it reduces staff turnover. According to Richard Branson, “Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough, so they don’t want to.” Based on this, the company must provide enough resources to train their employs rather than asking them to train themselves. Most of the employees are incapable of affording the resources enough to train according to the company’s needs and therefore, as a company, the leadership should emphasize on the welfare of the employees rather than concentrating on profits, acts which seem selfish. As stated by John Maxwell, “Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others. “Therefore, it is the duty of the company’s leadership to conduct training for their employees.
