Computer technology has become a vital part of social development. The advancement that people take into account is one thing that makes up the modern sense of development especially in embracing today’s understanding of social growth. In a way, modern computing is one specific element that serves as a definite foundation of social improvement especially when it comes to making up a better sense of consideration on how computers take on an important role in serving as one of the most practical source of social competence in relation to innovative machineries (Segan, 2007). With the emergence of such condition of development, it could be understood how computers have become one of the most important elements of social modernity.
Due to the pressure of embracing environmental-friendly operations, the promotion of Green-IT operations became a rather important aspect of development in modern computer-production. With the increasing rate of e-waste, it could be realized how the need for an environmentally friendly approach in computer production comes at a certain need that cannot be set aside nor can it be avoided. Green It or Green Computing is one specific approach to modern computer-productions that promote the concept of ICT sustainability (Royte, 2006). This approach champions on the study of the most compelling operations that make modern ICT considerations more specific especially for the sake of developing a more practically defined assumption of good computer development culture.
This form of computer-manufacturing procedure entails the need for the consideration on how computers, computer-generated gadgets and other machines that are dependent on computer operations that is based on solid IT considerations. To note, there are ten specific rules that could be taken into account with regards what Green IT operation is all about. These ten rules of Green Computing includes the following principles:
- Development based on algorithmic efficiency
- Application of proper resource allocation
- Implicative application of computer virtualization of programs
- Proper power management
- Development of procedures to promote longevity of product lifespan
- Development of better telecommunication network devices energy indices
- Promotion of Green Computing training among affected staff members
- Improvement of source-exploration for production
- Creation of better alternatives that would specifically create a massive distinction on how computer production is empowered through sustainable development management
- Computer engineers and developers are supposed to create distinct innovations that are able to mandate a better sense of control on how resources are used and how waste-materials are managed accordingly
These ten laws implicate a more definite insistence on how computers are produced and how modern developments in handling the said operation does create a definite sense of control on the ways by which resources are treated with high respect therefore making a distinct change on the culture of computer production that is recognized around the globe at present (Curry, et al, 2011). With an aim of protecting the resources that are used for computer production, green computing hopes to create other options of developmental considerations by which the modern society would be able to embrace a good sense of what is meant by developmental computer-technology. Overall, green computing hopes to reserve available resources accordingly especially in response to the ideal goal of making a finite change on how the world views and create computer developments and what impact it should make on how the world faces massive improvements dependent on computer-defined mandates at present.
