This is a skin condition, which leads to the inflammation of the hair follicles. The folliculitis may occur because of fungal or bacterial infection. An individual suffering from this condition is characterized by inflamed skin, which may sometimes turn reddish. The pimples that are white-headed in nature develop in the hair follicles of the patient’s skin. It is important to note that this type of condition makes one’s skin itchy. Various types of folliculitis exist and include pseudomonas folliculitis, bacterial folliculitis, pityrosporum and barbers itch. This condition is embarrassing and lowers one’s esteem significantly.
