Data Standards is the nation wide internet based health care exchange for planning and development of policy related to patient privacy and security. There are numerous advantages of using data standards. An example would be HIPPA that was enacted on august 12, 1996 by US congress to improve data standard such as privacy, confidentiality. HUD for example developed the outline and final HMIS Data and provided explanation on how those who provide domestic violence can take part in HMIS based on results from local society.  It also assists in the preservation of the private data of an individual so that it cannot be accessed by unauthorized personnel. They influence data standard adoption of data coding standards.  Among the information contained in the data standards are street, regions among others.

Adoption of DICOM Standards

The reason DICOM standards have been popularly accepted and adopted across wide variety of clinical imaging context is that these standards specify conformance statement that improves the communication of software specification of imaging equipment.  The idea was to come up with a standard of digital images transfer. This is to make the images available for the users and that they can retrieve associated gen and images in standards format from digital imaging equipments.  The transfer of data would hence be easy and all other old data be retrieved without any difficulty.

Yes, the use of standard codes in referencing medical data is justifiable because it’s quick and easy and reduces workload. Most importantly man-made error would be reduced tremendously when it is adopted. The time for processing as well as accuracy would be enhanced.  The use of computers also reduces the number of workers (unauthorized personnel included) in any organization and hence reduces the opportunities that data might end-up in wrong hands.
