Health Promotion for Middle School Students, Essay Example

It’s about the health promotion for middle school students. I see these as a very interesting experience in my nursing study period especially interacting with students. I need to be involved in verbal and emotional interaction with the middle school clients. I felt it a privilege to be working with people like Amy the school nurse who may have had a hands on experience with clients. I felt sorry for the kids but felt good that they could confide with me when it came to their medical information and that I could offer a solution to their health.

An example a thirteen year old kid with a stomach aches sounded like she had had a history of stomach disorder, it was required of me to guide the kid to the path of health if not cure. This made feel good about the vocation I am in and the health promotion program at the middle school. The practical part of nursing is most fascinating and fulfilling for me especially when the kid with the stomach aches was happy and thanked me after I offered her my advice; part of it being taking much water every day besides the nurse’s medication.

My experience in class taught me to pay attention to every detail and to offer a preventive solution if not a cure. I had a real test of these theories at the health promotion while the school nurse offered the necessary guidance. I felt throughout my experience the kids told truthful information about their health that was an important element in the health promotion in order to secure proper medical advice and treatment. It was also important that I made myself friendly that the kids would easily confide in me. At the end, I felt my nursing study had gained more inspiration.
