Healthcare Discussion, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 406

Essay

For customers, adequate service delivery is vital because they are willing and have the ability to pay for services offered to consumers and in this case, patients. Simply put by customers, they expect service companies to deliver what they are supposed to without giving lame excuses. They expect fundamentals and not fanciness; performance and not empty promises. Health customers want health institutions to provide medical services in a professional manner that leads to health restoration, which leads to a healthy population. Tangibles, assurance, reliability (accuracy and dependability), empathy, and responsiveness are the dimensions considered by customers of a service industry. Healthcare practitioners look into providing customers with uncommon swiftness, competence, understanding, grace, commitment, and courtesy, and go beyond what they are expected. An adequate number of services give the service industry more experience because they will deal with different health problems. Furthermore, this increases the number of input received by the service industry.

In the coming 20 years, the workforce agenda will improve because of the ongoing training, decisions on skills mix, and models of operation. Strategic planning of the workforce has been able to cater for the future needs of the aging population and multiple long-term conditions (Projections, 2010-2030, p. 2). The elements that can be included in the agenda include leadership, volunteer services, and retrenchment and training of volunteers and nursing professionals. The elements included in the national workforce agenda has included most of the items mentioned above, but further clarification of the elements make the planning of the agenda more concise and successful in the future.

The health care system characteristics, other key physician determinants and requirements of nursing will change over the next two decades. This is what I believe because of the technological advances. The health care system will be updated and use modern equipment in terms of recording and storing patients data. Furthermore, physician determinants and nursing requirements will encompass a change of behavior in terms of economic growth, price of physician services, population growth and aging, changes in medical insurance type and coverage, government policy, advances in science and technology, and the growing role of NPCs (Shi & Singh, 2011, pp. 288-290). All these determinants elaborate the need for change in the health system because it affects the future needs of the population and growth of the country economically.
