The high echelon of diversity plays a significant role in determining the performance of healthcare providers in health institutions. The implication of the existing diversity is that providers of healthcare have a duty to learn how to manage the highly complex diversity with regard to the styles of communication, expectations, attitudes as well as views. People of different cultures and lifestyles in healthcare reception requires that providers of healthcare embrace a wide array of approaches that will facilitate in bridging the barriers in communication that are attributed to their races, ethnicity, linguistic as well as cultural diversity (Chitty & Black, 2014). Interpersonal as well as organizational interventions are needed as part of cultural competencies to be adopted by healthcare providers to overcome the existing differences. The achievement of cultural competence in healthcare provision to people of different cultures and lifestyles must be associated with some appreciable accomplishments. There must be a notable difference experienced among the patients, health outcomes as well as healthcare delivery (Fleming & Towey, 2001).

The most important aspects of consideration in diverse cultures and lifestyle include sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, disability, faith, status in the community, gender and tastes. People from these culture or lifestyle have different perceptions of how they are treated when receiving healthcare. The inimitable needs associated with women should be addressed with the highest degree of sensitivity that they deserve. The reactions of the patients coupled with their behavioral differences will require that the clinicians handle them in a special way. The healthcare providers must learn to actively listen to the patients (Chitty & Black, 2014).

It is important for the nurses to provide culturally appropriate care for patients from their cultural or lifestyle background if they aspire to achieve success during their clinical encounter. The achievement of this goal is determined by the level of interest that they develop with regard to the impact of the cultural competencies interventions in relation to the achieved intermediary outcomes. These include aspects of comprehension, devotion to medication recommended by the healthcare providers, the level of perceived satisfaction, appropriate utilization as well as lifestyle recommendation. A patient willing to pay for the services of health care has specific interest in the manner that interventions of cultural competence are applied with regard to services utilization. However, practical indication of the link between the interventions of cultural competence to the level of improvement in health status and consequent cost saving may be an uphill task for the health care providers. This complexity is attributed to the large number of variables that are potentially confounding. At the same time, several intermediary outcomes can be linked together as a positive indicator of the potential outcomes that leads to the improvements in the health status and consequent cost savings among the people in a society of divergent cultures and lifestyle (Chitty & Black, 2014). A lot of more information is required for the nurses to achieve cultural competence in providing health care to people of different cultures and lifestyle. In this respect, it is imperative that communication between the nurses and patients be improved that will lead to the enhancement of health care. The nurses also need a clear background of beliefs as well as the practices that are an important component of the value system of the patients. The knowledge of ethnic heritage, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation, family origin, among others must be exposed to the nurses.
