Kansas City Missouri

The healthcare system existing to assist residents of Kansas City Missouri at present could be considered effective especially when it comes to determining the possible financial assistance that the government could provide the residents who are earning below the average rate of regular salary. Increasing budget allocation for the support that is given to self employed individuals could also be well commended as part of the said system. The attention that the local government gives towards the distinct role they take in assuring a well developed healthcare system for the people could be commended as well. Nevertheless, there is still something more that could be done.

According to current statistical records, the poverty rate in the whole state of Missouri is 19.2% and 21% of the said rate belongs to the territories of Kansas City (KPD, 2012, internet). Relatively, with poverty comes the emergence of several healthcare problems. While the government does provide options of assistance that the residents could use whenever medical emergencies occur, it is often most effective to prevent the dreadful situations from happening rather than to actually deal with them. Preventing programs could include regular school-feeding programs. These feeding programs should provide healthy food options for the children. Protecting their health through the provision of good and healthy diet in school could help in lowering rates of malnutrition in the area (KCHD, 2014, internet). Children who are not going to school should also receive feeding programs. Not to make the community dependent on what the government provides, this program entails the children to develop better health status that could actually inculcate in them healthy options of growth and development that could grow into them as means of personal culture.

Families living out in the streets as well as homeless individuals ought to be given support as well. Giving them feeding options is an important part of the process. Educating them on getting free vaccinations especially against environmentally defined ailments is necessary. Allowing them to see the importance of such provisions could help prevent medical outbreaks in the future. Families living under the grid of poverty should be given attention to as well. Allocating budget that would be dedicated towards creating better options of community health services dedicated to them would help a lot in lowering instances of possible outbreaks in the future (KCHD, 2014, internet). Protecting their health quality would account for the government’s capacity to provide for what the community needs especially on the part of those who are concerned about their health and are mindful enough to take the option of taking what the government provides.

Increasing communal knowledge about proper health practices should be developed (AHR, 2014, internet). This includes regular community orientations especially on common aspects of health problems that the community needs to deal with. Giving out such orientations shall provide the healthcare department a better grounded foundation with which they could work with especially in the desire of developing better options of development for the people to recognize. Protecting their health status through giving attention to how they understand such concept of personal health shall instill a healthy culture that could make it possible to avoid large amount of money dedicated to medical procedures and medical operations that will likely become unnecessary when proper health culture is already established in the city. Nurses and other medical practitioners could come together to formulate such programs and make sure that the community receives ample information as well as medical support when it comes to high risk medical cases that may in the city.
