Examination of Support Funding for Vulnerable Members of the Society

Homelessness is specifically becoming a highly important matter to consider in several Canadian cities and provinces and giving attention to it on the part of the government is a vital action towards protecting the nation’s future and that of its people. Being a specifically interesting place to live in, people from all over the globe see Canada as a primary location of transfer. With open rules to immigration and international acceptance of incoming visitors who would want to work their residential rights while they stay in the country, the Canadian immigrant-population rises at 3% each year (Shapcott, 2008). On the other hand, people living in rural areas also tend to transfer to supposedly more stable communities like the urban locations. Hoping to find a good job and good sustenance, these individuals choose to bring their families to the city thus causing an influx of population in the said locations. Sadly, not everyone who hopes to gain better living status in the urban areas get what they want.

Some end up finding out that they have no opportunities waiting for them in the cities. Ending up unemployed, these individuals often gain no choice but to live in their cars; or worse, live on the streets. Trying to find safety in sidewalks, these families and individuals begin to consider the road their home. Try to its sense, the Canadian government and its local factions need to give attention to the matter in a serious manner, finding out what influences the development of the problem and what else can be done to respond to it. Not giving attention to it now could cause more problems to spur out from this particular social issue. People not finding homes and proper sustenance for survival would later on become specific sources of social diseases that could affect the country’s reputation as a successful and developed nation. At present, adjusting funding budgets dedicated to homeless individuals and their families could be set as a response to the increasing issue of homelessness in Canada.  Presenting statistical data that would convince the agencies and government officials who have the power to respond to the issue shall be the primary purpose of this research.
