Essay

I am interested in applying for master’s degree program in Hood College. I did my bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at Arab Open University and graduated on August, 2009 scoring a GPA of 2.6 out of a possible 4. I did my certificate and diploma in Programming and completed both by July, 2002, scoring a total GPA of 2.45out of the possible 4. Arab Open University and Institute of Public Administration are based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The four year program undergraduate program in Information Technology formed the basis of my interest in pursuing in depth knowledge, in Information Technology. Other than my degree course, I did different other courses to supplement my major career some of which are systems analysis, quality analysis and project management.

During my degree program, I underwent training in developing programs. From October, 2002 to December, 2002, I trained as a developer at Future Soft. I also worked as a System Analysis at MODA. This gave me an experience in dealing with software projects. I started working as a developer then as a System Analyst and later as a team leader and software Quality Assurance. MODA is a government based institution that provides experience in Information Technology. This served as my longest work which was from 2003 to 2012. I later worked as a manager at Dr. Net café where I managed internet service center as a part time job. Other than the normal curriculum system, I also had other certificates to supplement my personality. I have a certificate in effective building of ASP.NET 4 web application, another in report writing of Information Technology, a certificate in ISEB Software testing, a certificate in system development essentials, and systems modeling techniques at QA London. I had a certificate in English Intensive Course from ELC York, introduction to programming with.NET at Madarat, Riyadh.

I have a 10 years experience in speaking both English and Arab. I have skills in MS Visio with five years experience, MS Office with more than 10 years experience, ASP.NET with 5 years experience, SQL Server with 10 years experience, using share point with a year of experience, power designing with 10 years of experience, and ICDL with a three months experience. My experience in work has given me a proper insight into the return of academics; it has given me the urge and courage to pursue a master’s degree and reborn the desire to go into research work. This career has given me a proper knowledge to go into research work and to go deeper into Information Technology. My experience and practices are all in line with information technology in that all the systems are developed from the system.

My goal in this field is to be a professional, innovative expert with the ability to solve the information technology problems. Having been constantly motivated and given the values of life by my mentors, I had a constant desire to pursue my interest acquired from the field of Information Technology. My main aim is to develop major systems using the techniques acquired in Information Technology, to come up with new systems that would bring a major effect in the world. My experience in other programs is related to information technology that a further venture in this field would improve my skills. Solving technology problems requires extra skills in related programs as in development and programming in which I have experience. Given the opportunity, I would provide my best.
