Essay

The University of Washington Canter is the most innovative organization in the World. It always hires people that make it keep moving to a new level in the global market (UW School of Public Health, 2021). After the outbreak of Covid-19 University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA, had to initiate a significant strategy to mitigate the virus and control the situation. The main aim was to provide high-quality care to the clients, especially the vulnerable populations and the patients in high-risk situations.

UW MIT launched the application of Telemedicine and the provision of their services remotely as a key strategic plan due to the COVID 19 pandemic. For example, in March, UW MIT had already trained and equipped about 500 medical providers who were caring for high-risk patients like those involved in renal and transplant. All the ICUs now have telehealth services where physicians can easily indulge with the clients through cameras and tele-ICU charts. According to Grange, et al., (2020),  UW Med. applied was the roll out of the Hospital Incident Command and ITS Emergency Management. The model is normally applied during emergency occasions. UW uses an enterprise Incident model which operates through shared planning and operational teams to manage the local and regional departments. Secondly, there was the establishment of governance to increase the level of response. This strategy must adapt as fast as possible to ensure stability (Hudecheck, Sirén, Grichnik, and Wincent, 2020). Therefore, the Corona Virus ITS response compiled requests for implementation that promote clinical practices. Lastly, there was the introduction of real-time dashboards to promote the visibility of different changes. They compiled daily tests, daily visits, and admission counts.

Given that UW Center has a reputable history of advanced diversity and improving sustainability, the pandemic made the firm strategy in the best way that would have to make it a response to Covid-19 positively. For instance, having assessed the company keenly, it is evident that it developed a high-quality IT expert that represented an important area of need for the facility healthcare system (Fausto, et al., 2020). Moreover, the firm’s implementation of the Information Technology Service strategy helped other institutions know the significant way to deal with the pandemic as with that strategy; the organization was basically able to coordinate the company during the pandemic. There was high optimization of the organization’s communication channels to meet the consumer requirements through real-time responses and feedback. For example, there was the application of emails and digital newsletters and patient notification alerts to breaking the communication barriers in the hospital settings.

Consequently, given that the organization was implementing a new strategy, there was a need to create a positive and corporate strategy that would benefit the organization for the long term (Mossa-Basha et al., 2020).  For example, the organization requires a strategy to assist in future pandemics; as a result, a hospital incident command structure must be established, which includes tight integration with IT, the preparation of human resources who are well-versed in IT, and the creation of automated incident command dashboards. It is evident that with good IT, the company will be able to respond to any pandemic going in the future, thus finding a new way of approach to support clinical needs in the company going forward (Grange et al., 2020). With a good management system structure, the organization will be able to make future changes effectively, thus reducing the amount of pressure that can affect the organization going into the future.
