How Critical Thinking Can Help You Solve Problems? Essay Example

Words: 391

Essay

The manner in which critical thinking can be used in one’s everyday life is exemplary. While many do not realize it, they are making use of their critical thinking skills in order to form certain judgements on certain things. Three of the primary things that I was able to obtain from this course on critical thinking is how to have a straight thought process in order to achieve a certain goal, how to use previous experiences to my advantage, and how to work through problems as opposed to just memorizing certain material.

In order to have a straight thought process, one must be able to thoroughly analyze a certain situation at hand and use one’s logic to determine a course of action. The reason as to why this lesson proved valuable to me is because of the manner in which it is able to dictate the manner in which any problem(s) can be solved if the correct critical thinking strategies are applied.

A major contribution to my life that was brought about this class’ instruction of critical thinking is the fact that previous experiences can be applied to certain critical thinking strategies. If, for example, an individual did not know what to do in a given scenario, then he or she would most likely depend on previous experiences to guide himself or herself through the situation.

When certain critical thinking strategies are applied, one is able to work through problems as opposed to just memorizing facts. The reason as to why this will prove to be a pivotal lesson in my life is because of the lesson’s ability to make me cognizant of the idea that one can get through life without just memorizing useless facts. Instead, I now understand that it is more important to realize what I am learning about fully instead of just trying to keep my head above the water.

I strongly believe in the statement that all of these lessons that I have acquired from these course will be incredibly useful to me throughout the course of my life. I will now be able to deploy critical thinking strategies in all my life matters.
