Civilization in the 21st century has offered challenges that have continued to raise concerns in the society. Civilization has economic implications; it displays patterns of exchange in societies that are less organized. Civilization can lead to running out of agricultural resources due to soil depletion and extended drought. A technology encourages the stability and yield of agriculture and is key to the creation of civilization. Civilization is made stable through the stabilization of resources as well as the expansion of market influence. Technology helps, in the accomplishment of our needs, to survive despite the challenges. It helps us to adapt and merge our needs to the environment we live. Civilization is in the verge of being global. Technology too is trying to reveal the fact that we depend on the planet, and we need to secure ourselves in order to survive.

The planet has to survive in order for the species living in to survive. The more the planet becomes depleted the more the lives of those living in it are threatened. The planet is wasted and polluted despite the fact that it is the one resource that promotes our survival and actions. The changes brought by technology will eventually render the world a place not fit for human life. The result would be to find another alternative that will repair the side effects brought about by civilization and technology. Citizens of the current civilization should be able to learn to live and manage the environment they live. Technology has also led to the elimination of unsanitary conditions with regard to health. This means that a considerable contribution has been made to life span increment. It has also increased the chances of survival in children and availability of modern medicine. Challenges to medicine will cause changes in the lives of people.
