Technology department deals with conversion of input to output of data within an organization. For it to be effective in the twenty first century, the following can be applied: use of social media, application of big data, consumerisation of information technology and cloud computing.

Social Media

The revenue growth of social businesses is 24% higher than less social firms and data. Companies should grow towards using social media as a channel for communication to maximize profit.

Big Data

It describes new technologies and techniques that can deal with an order of magnitude or more data than enterprises are today with consideration of cost effectiveness. Most businesses have many data yet they have limited access to it. Business cycles are growing smaller and smaller hence the need to check the new and existing business data and process it quickly to make crucial decision. Big data tackles entirely new business problems that were initially impossible to solve with existing methods. The company needs to check the impressive to see the major opportunities big data over.

Consumerisation of information technology

The source of information in technology is majorly the consumers. Consumerisation deals with usage model, which can make enterprises to be complex, and reduces levels of consumer participation. It provides easier and more productive solutions.

Cloud computing

This should be adopted because of cost reduction. Business agility, vender choice, and access to next generation architectures are benefits of employing the current cloud computing architectures. This is because they more advanced than their traditional enterprises.

Externally, environment as a source of change in an organization has the following aspects: economic, technology, socio-cultural, political, and international. Internally, the sources of ideas for change are: people, structure and process.

How performance of organization and its members can be measured

The most important aspect in a workplace is the management of performance. It enables the managers to determine whether employees are meeting the company’s expectations. It also enables the company to determine whether the set objectives and goals are met. Balanced scorecard, Graphic rating scales, management by objectives, shareholder-value, and competition based measures and forced ranking are ways that can be used to measure of the performance of the organization.

When using the shareholder-value to measure the performance of the organization, the theories of economic studies proposes that the company or the organization should try to optimize the investment capital use. In this way they maximize returns which the company has gained from the investment of both the organization and the members, factoring in the long term benefits.

Incentive system

It is a system that consists of a well-structured motivation system and is used for the promotion of specific sought –after behavior. It utilizes rewards rather than punishment to motivate employees. It is recognizing and rewarding strategically valuable behavior and activities. Employees contribute to organization in response to the incentives they are given. Incentives can be categorized as materials and status or purposive.

Culture emotional atmosphere within an organization

A work environment comprises a range of factors including company culture, management styles, human resource policies, and hierarchies. The general working environment in an organization should be conducive to make employees excited to come to work every day and to stay with their managers comfortably. The employees should be confident and comfortable. The management of the street state company has been enthusiastic in achieving their mission of expanding globally.
