How the Human Mind Processes Information, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 266

Essay

The complexity of how the human mind processes information is my enthralling experience. Before my psychology degree, I was always overwhelmed by the diverseness of people’s thinking, which stimulated my obsession to study the human mind. As a psychology graduate, I learned about human behavior through academic research and studies to understand various people with different mental health issues.

The academic research enhanced my curiosity towards using my theoretical knowledge in solving mental health-related problems. As a result, I delved further into research by reading psychotic books. These include Beautiful Mind by Sylvia Nasar; No One Cares About Crazy People: The Chaos and Heartbreak of Mental Health in America by Kindle Edition. These books have helped me widely understand the problems facing people with mental health issues. In addition, they have taught me numerous ways to use my psychology knowledge to develop mental illness solutions.

Through my research on these disorders, I was especially fascinated by people who majorly had personality disorders and schizophrenia due to my passion for problem-solving. The challenges facing people with personality disorders require curious physicians, who constantly question the new developments in medicine. In addition, the physicians must deduce creative ways through problem-solving and lifelong learning, which I find intellectually stimulating.

The available research findings regarding psychotic disorders advance the range of possible trajectories that a curious physician may achieve in this field. In this regard, I want to pursue clinical psychology to approach psychotic disorder cases as an exclusive entity and provide patients with special care. Moreover, I will develop solutions to numerous nagging questions emanating from prior research on the psychotic field.
