The flu is a virus which affects the respiratory tract. Symptoms of the flu may include a combination of the following high fever, blocking, vomiting, queasiness, fatigue, muscle aches, headaches, or coughing. Getting plenty of rest especially bed rest assists in reduction of the effects of flu symptoms. Bed rest prevents the transmission of the symptoms to others and also helps the immune system to fight off the infections.
