How to Make E-Mail Signatures, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 289

Essay

Although I have had experiences in my school and professional career with several different e-mail applications, I prefer to use web-based e-mail because these accounts can be accessed through web pages and e-mails can be stored on the Cloud. A major disadvantage of this system is that e-mail messages cannot be accessed when the Internet is unavailable, but now that a majority of cell phones have Internet capabilities, this is not problematic. I dislike e-mailing over a network because it is more efficient to have the ability to send messages both to coworkers and individuals outside of the office from the same platform. Despite this, I would generally recommend the use of network e-mail primarily because a majority of employees are only required to communicate with one another to accomplish work. By disabling Internet e-mail capabilities on work computers, I would be able to more greatly ensure that my workers are not conducting personal business during work hours. However, web-based e-mail should be allowed for employees that have outside contacts for business purposes, which is a disadvantage of the network only e-mail implementation.

In this lesson, I learned how to make e-mail signatures. Although I was aware that this capability existed, I haven’t used it to the extent I should. It is useful to provide contact information in an e-mail, such as full name and phone number, so that professional contacts can be sure how to contact someone. This feature will also make signing e-mails more efficient, so I do not have to worry about including this information in the body of the message. This will also improve how I use the email application.
