Education and training play an important role in promoting wellness among the staff in a given organization. Promoting wellness of staff are an important aspect in hiring, supervising, as well as evaluating psychiatric rehabilitation practitioners. Thus, introducing wellness interventions as novel service programs may seem a promising approach for increasing staff awareness of their wellness strengths and weaknesses. A person-centered model of employee evaluation and supervision supports staff in examining and enhancing their wellness. Furthermore, organizational culture has the potential to impact staff wellness. Human resources policies, information resources, and benefit packages accessible to personnel need to offer the knowledge and practical help, which personnel need to set and attain personal wellness goals.

The principle states that recovery involves family, individual, and community strengths, as well as responsibility. This implies that the community, families and individuals serve as important components towards recovery. For instance, individuals have the responsibility for their self-care and journeys towards recovery, where they need to be supported by speaking for themselves. Families have the role of helping their loved ones, particularly children and youth in the recovery process. Communities are charged with the responsibility of offering opportunities, and resources to deal with discrimination and to promote recovery along with inclusion.

Young people are trained by Howie the Harp Peer Advocacy and Training Center through imparting foundational knowledge to encourage health promotion activities amongst the youth with mental health disabilities. The center has designed a curriculum that has comprehensive content that is used to train and educate families that has young people with mental challenges. The content is designed in a manner that it covers all aspects of disabilities and ways of caring these people to attain mental wellness.
