Essay

To what factors did early behavioral theorists links behaviors? Briefly explain motivational theories.

Basing from the capacity of the human mind to perceive the future through depending on the experiences that they had several theorists often relate behaviors to the cognitive capacity of the mind to develop based on the past events that occurred in their life. Undeniably, it could be understood that humans have the capacity to define their future as they learn from the past. Learning from their experiences, humans are able to see what possibilities await them especially when in it comes to doing something they may have already done before. The consequences of their action intend to mark certain occurrences that they may use as reference for future events that may happen again. Based from these learned lessons, humans begin to decipher an understanding that would have a great impact on how they decide on matters at present.

Apart from life experiences, humans use education as a shield of knowledge that protects individuals as they face the different challenges that life offers them. It could be assumed that somehow, with proper education or at least knowing what is going to happen through having a knowledgeable background about the situation, it is given that the behavior of an individual would become more careful in taking steps and making new decisions especially when it comes to creating new challenges and facing them with full confidence. Based on knowledge, the behavior response of humans becomes strongly related to understanding and the logic of cause and effect that they have a strong knowledge about.

Name three things that can help prevent unsafe behaviors.

As mentioned in the discussion of the first question, there are three particular things that help in the process of improving the capacity of humans to avoid unsafe behaviors. One is through proper education, another is through experience; another specific source of confidence when it comes to avoiding unsafe behaviors is through the setup of rules that are administered to be followed by human individuals as they are directed by authority. The formulation of rules however is again is dependent on how humans perceive dangerous behaviors that could promote unsafe outcomes.

Considering the current situations, human history has provided a great source of pattern for humans to get knowledge from. Taking from what other people have done before, learning fully from the past allows the human society from taking good aspects of safety that could protect them from possible issues that could cause a source of tension and damage in their own lives at present.

When it comes to business operations, employees are given the chance to see through their actions with the help of the guidelines provided to them by their authorities and supervisors. Making a definite turn of situations to help the employees protect themselves, organizational leaders today are expected to make amends with the process of creating policies through appealing to the behavior of their people.

What is behavior-based safety and how is it tied to process improvement?

Organizations have the responsibility to protect the safety of their people. Once a person gets injured while doing his job in a company, the company is then held responsible for handling the needed finances to support the employee’s recovery. Every year, thousands of dollars are lost due to such incidents and organizations today are becoming more concerned on how to reduce the occurrence of emergencies therefore protecting their monetary assets as well. Hence, to respond to this need, the administrators are encouraged to appeal to the behavior of their employees. Empowering them to be more careful, giving them incentives or taking precautions might as well give them the chance to benefit from being mindful of their actions while giving the organization a chance to improve their procedural operations while reducing wasteful costs of having to send employees to healthcare institutions for recovery assistance.

With lesser care placed upon the allotment of financial support for occurring emergencies, organizations could further focus on more important things especially when it comes to improving other aspects of the business. Along with this, the establishment of a much safer culture in the organization creates a more workable environment that the employees would not only enjoy but would also be able to benefit from. Saving a lot more dollars for other developments and for better sources of employee motivation would provide both parties [the employees and the employers] a good source of realizing the real impact of following a better pattern of safe behavior at work. This shall keep them away from carelessly thinking of what might happen next if they do not follow safety rules while completing their tasks at work. In the long run, this approach would create better procedural operations for the organization as a whole.
