Essay

From: Smith, John

To: Human Resource Manager

Date: January 11, 2010

Subject: Complaint Letter

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank for your support all along to ensure that all employees in the organization are treated equally and has their rights respected in quest of building team work in the organization. However, all has not been well in line with the policies and procedure of the organization in relation on how the junior staff relate with their supervisors. It’s the priority of each one of us to see that we treat each other in a humane manner which will always support a good spirit of team work that eventually will promote our delivery of duties.

I want to bring to your attention existence of hostile working environment which has been evidence in the organization for some time. I thought it won’t take long but its keep on deteriorating with time until I am a victim. My supervisor Angel Zepeda who is the crew tracking supervisor whom I work under has been creating uncomfortable environment in the working place which is against the labor laws of the state of Arizona and the policy of the organization (Jelsoft Enterprises, 2005).

The tone she uses when addressing me and my colleague is unpleasant she has a commanding voice even to issues which needs no command. She is fond of writing misleading mails to other departments hence making the scenario even more destructive to other departments which we relate with. Such as other fellow supervisors, senior executives and departmental managers hence her implications are slanderous. According to Braje, (2003) such actions are malicious, hateful and cruel and call for a disciplinary actions to be taken for such perpetrators.

As a senior supervisor in our department I do expect some sort of discretion and privacy when dealing with situations which are personal such as work performance. In such instances she should not write a personal mail addressed to one of us and make copies to other employees who it does not concern them. Such occurrences infringe privacy of the employees and demean their self esteem which is essential in productivity and building of self confidence which in turn improves on their delivery (Napper, 2009).

According to her record of issues noted she has proved to be lacking separation of personal and work within departmental personnel. These have deteriorated to levels which she is favoring her friends who are enjoying preferential treatment. Such behavior is unbecoming from a supervisor and it is not acceptable as it tend to be discriminatory. According to Federal Employment and Labor Laws, (2009) discrimination in a working place despite its reason is discouraged and offensive and attracts penalties or disciplinary actions to be taken for the offender.

I do appreciate your quick response whenever such grievances are brought to your attention and I do hope you will accord the sentiments highlighted in this letter the urgency it disserves to restore serenity in the department.

Yours Faithfully,

Smith, John
