Describing an image

The picture is a description of a girl thinking about a house that she probably lived at one point of her life. The girl in the picture looks astonished or rather sad. Maybe she is picturing her old life when she was a young kid in the house on the image. This evidence is from the playing toys present in the picture. The house looks old. The ceiling is rugged and thorn. This picture presents an intriguing scene especially for this girl. However, there is a notable contrast between the girl and the house. Whereas the girl looks well dressed and smart, the arrangement of the house seems to have kinks. From the way the playing toys are lying on the floor, it is clear that no one cares to arrange them. It is clear from the picture that the walls are dirty as the wooden walls have stains, a show of how the house is abandoned. The thorn ceiling and the dirt walls make the whole house a mess. They combine to give an awful scene, maybe a reason why the girl is astonished.

Looking deep into the picture, there is heightened contrast in terms of setting. The furniture seems to be in good shape while the ceiling and wall are in tatters. This contrasts with the state of the room itself. The cupboard and the drawers on the wall are well painted and have no dents. The furniture creates an overall impression of a well-planned house. In the picture, the background of the girl is bright. On the other hand, the background of the room is quite dark. This communicates a lot. Can it be a show of how her life has changed ever since she was a kid? Alternatively, it is a show of how she wants her life to be. The cloth she outs on is pink. This is a color loved by most girls, and it symbolizes compassion, love and nurturing. In this picture, it can be the girl is reflecting on how she loved her childhood life. She has nurtured and protected her childhood toys seen in the picture. The thorn house is a show of how time has gone, but still the toys are there.

The black and pale colors used on the painting give it the impression. The paint of the cupboard is black while the drawers are pale. There are also white and blue colors on the lower right corner. The toy that is in the form of an angel is in faded white. The toy lying on the floors is wearing a white pant. On the cupboard, there are drawing made up of green and pink colors. On top of the drawer next to the wall, there are flowers, a sketch of a house, a glass vase, candles, and carvings of humans. Looking closely on the wall, there are pictures. One seems to be a painting on the wooden wall while the other is a picture probably hanging. This image has various features. The girl is the center of attraction. Any individual who glances at this image for the first time will have his or her eyes on the girl first. Personally, this is what struck my eyes first. I tried looking at the other part of the picture, but many a times I will find my eyes on the girl. The background she has been given attracts the eyes. She is in a top that is bright colored, bait for catching the attention of eyes.

Apart from the worn out ceiling, the room is well set. There is harmony in the way the room is set with the animated and vibrant surrounding. The setting creates a feeling of reality as the images appear to complement the state of the house. The color used to paint the doors and the walls are faded. This is an indication of a transitory of nature. The use of different colors in the picture is a show of how elements of painting are put into play. In the section of the girl, the background is uncluttered. The arrangement of the photo is non-distracting. This makes it easy for the viewer to get the subject of the photo. The girl is centrally placed hence no distraction. This is unlike in the second section of the photo where the object of focus is hard to identify. There are many background distractions making the background blurred. The first thing that hits the viewer is the worn out ceiling that creates a massive hole on the roof and the toy lying on the floor that has never been used for so long. The old flowers that have evolved into a new life and the toys on the drawer capture the attention of viewers too. It is hard to know the central object.

The focus on the girl section is sharp and tack. This is as compared to the one of the room. The eyes of the girl are wide-open making the viewer able to read what she may be thinking of. One thing that comes out is that this picture is telling a story. From the posture of the girl, the viewer can interpret the girl to be telling a story about her past. This picture has a statement that a viewer can articulate. Looking at it deeply, it emulates emotions. The girl is in a surprised or rather astonished state. Gazing at the image, one can see the cracked ceiling with dirty poking out. The walls of the rooms have black decay a show of neglect. Spots of original paint show the former prosperity of the house. There are cobwebs on the worn out ceiling. The door is locked even though on its top it seems to be, not in a good shape. There are brown and black spots dotting the top area of the wall where it interlocks with the ceiling. The molds are a clear indication of rain seeping through the worn out ceiling.

The floor of the room is in good status. The cupboard also seems in an intact position a show that it carries some fundamental things. A closer look discloses the glass vase to be having water, the only show of life in this abandoned house. This image has a creative design as it brings the abstract ideas into reality. It has associated the things on the image with the girl. The image has tried to explain more about the girl. It has achieved the aspect of dimensionality through the union of corners and use of natural features. It has an open-ended angular interpretation. In short, this image has created an overall feeling of harmony.
