A study of concepts associated with industrial espionage and understanding of industrial espionage in modern business environment is the goal of the research. The primary concern of the research is industrial espionage and the concepts associated with espionage. In understanding the concept of industrial espionage, it becomes easy to avoid and tackle the problems resulting from espionage (Kurtz et al, 2010). The aim of the research is to increase knowledge of tactical challenges occasioned by industrial espionage.

The perpetrators of industrial espionage often have economically driven motives in the act of espionage. The drivers of industrial espionage aimed at obtaining business information that could be a threat to the entity (Daphne, 2011). The research aimed at investigating the motives behind industrial espionage. The motive tries to validate the aspect of industrial espionage and explain the occurrence of the same.

The other part of the research tries to evaluate the impact of industrial espionage and the risk associated in instances of espionage. The level of vulnerability, the ability to avoid targeting and the methods employed by industrial spies also dealt with in the research (Crane, 2004). The occurrence of industrial espionage is more eminent in the online information especially on entrepreneurs since most of them not patented (Jones, 2008). There can be limited redress in such circumstances. The other part of the research deals with the shift of industrial espionage to the online space and the methodology associated with cybercrime related industrial espionage. It looks into the legal aspects of these occurrences and the complexities resulting from the outcome of such acts.

The research concludes with the legal, leadership and ethical place of industrial espionage. It also includes the policies principle to evading cases of industrial espionage in the business entities (Stadler, 2012).
