Information technology is frequently changing due to innovations and companies, and organizations should embrace the changes to improve their businesses and sustain stiff competition. Currently, the world in undergoing transformation to the digital era where everything is done online using the internet. The hospital is trying to cope up with the new technology by incorporating information system in the health care facilities. The objective of the hospital is to reduce hospital-acquired infections affecting the patients. Another objective is to reduce costs because when the acquired infections are reduced, the costs will automatically be reduced. To reduce the hospital acquired infections, the hospital need to incorporate information system in the health care. Information system will improve communication between the health care practitioners when attending the patients. It is because the nurses will not run to different places to seek assistance or equipments but to use the current technology without moving. It will save the lives of the patients because communications are taking place while the patient is treated without wasting time.

Information systems will assist the nurses or the hospital in general to store and retrieve patient’s information easily. Previous records are retrieved on how the patient was treated, and the right prescriptions are administered on time saving the life of the patient. It is unlike the manual system where files are sorted one by one wasting time and risking the life of the patient. New technology will help the hospital to used computers and the internet in the laboratory and even screening. The nurses will obtain the results of the diagnosis in a short time and prescriptions given to the respective authorities or individuals who will treat the patient. All these objectives will help the hospital to reduce costs and make work easier because the nurses will not strain when assisting and treating the patients.

The original state of the hospital was poor, and the patients would not be attended to effectively during emergencies. When there is an emergency in the hospital, the nurses should have efficient communication when calling for assistance in the process of treatment. The hospital had poor communication systems due to lack of current information technology equipments. The hospital was using outdated machines in the laboratory, which could not be connected to the computers for better diagnosis and release of the results. It would take a long for the patient to be given the right prescription of drugs due to slow the process in the laboratory. Due to outdated or older machines, the tests would be misdiagnosed leading to incorrect results, and the patients will not receive the right treatment.

The hospital improved the business process by installing efficient communication systems. Communication between the nurses was improved, and the patients were satisfied with the fast treatment without wasting time-saving the lives of the patients. As per the new technology, the hospital acquired new systems, which would enable the doctors to store and retrieve patient’s information without wasting time. Computerized laboratory equipments enabled the nurses diagnose and gave results to the respective doctors in a short time. Patients would be treated in a short time during emergencies.  Due to speed and effectiveness when treating patients, many patients would be treated within a very short time. The hospital would increase its revenue because many patients would be treated to their satisfaction, and they would visit the hospital in case of any emergency or illness. The information system is a key component for any improvement to be made in the business. Using information systems, the hospital could market its services using the current technology. Information systems and technology helped the hospital to reduce hospital-acquired infections, and the patients were satisfied with the treatments services.
