Essay

Critiquing qualitative research is considered more difficult than critiquing quantitative research. Discuss the reasons for this opinion and the rationale behind it while sharing how you would apply results of a qualitative study to a potential practice change initiative.

As it could be noted, quantitative research is dependent on quantitative data; this means that the numerical variables of a study is much more considered to have a distinct sense of directive on how study-evaluation could be handled. However, for qualitative studies, more abstract forms of elements are expected to be established and be given particular attention to; these elements dealing with human nature and human behavior are most often than not harder to measure and critique. In relation to practice change, qualitative data would of course be much dedicated to redefining the path of the program based on behavior rather than on the numerical data especially that it aims to reshape the attitude of the patients being dealt with.

Please discuss the reasons you might think this is so and the rationale behind it.

Human elements and human nature are almost immeasurable; hence, to be able to analyze the data in qualitative studies, researchers ought to take note of the need to handle the process through establishing the theoretical basis of the matter.

Please also share how you would apply the results of a qualitative study to a potential practice change initiative.

The results of a qualitative study, as known, would be based on direct human response. Scaling attitude and behavior may not be easy, but these results would best apply in the process of changing the initiative and perspective of individuals especially with regards the option of providing extensive measures of development that are most often than not necessary for improving the concept of human nature and how it is handled through intervention to improve the current situations occurring among the target population.
