Position: Global Project Leader

Leader: Travis is an experienced manager, who works for Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals. He is responsible for the global leadership of the product development of various business units and leads the multifunctional project team through the whole process of product development. Being a member of a strategic project team, Travis is fully responsible for the development of the product, building the project development plan, setting objectives, timelines and distributing project budgets and putting the operational plans into action to develop the product promptly, within the budget and the time frame. He works in a diverse environment of idea exchange and individual perspectives, which calls for a strong and professional leader.

Statement of Purpose: The purpose of this interview is to reveal the characteristics and traits of a true leader, and clearly understand how they can be applied to manage and lead people. Moreover, these questions will show how leadership is exercised, when the company or business is planning a change.

Questions:

  1. Do you think it is important to be a leader? Why? Do you consider yourself a leader?
  2. Do you think that you could possibly teach change leadership?
  3. When you look at businesses and CEOs today, are you impressed with the level of leadership? Is there a lot to be changed?
  4. What do you think is essential for the change to occur in the company?
  5. What have you learned about affecting the quality of relationships among workers in your company and within “change coalition”? How do you decide whom to choose for the “coalition”?
  6. Could you ever predict the success of the change in your company? Why?
  7. What techniques or methods you consider to be the most effective to carry out the change process?
  8. What changes has the company that you work for undergone since you started working for it? How has your project team changed?
  9. Include characteristics of transformational leaders and explain how transformation takes place.
  10. What do you enjoy most of what you do?
