Introduction to Communication, Essay Example

Essay

Dear Mr./Ms. [supervisor’s name] and Mr./Ms. [coworker’s name],

I would like to express my deep regrets for missing the presentation with XYZ Company yesterday morning. I understand the importance of showing our seriousness in delivering their project in time considering that they are first-time clients. As the technical lead in this project, it was unprofessional of me to be absent without apology. I am truly sorry.

I put you in an awkward position of trying to respond to questions regarding the technical aspects of the project and having to explain why the technical lead wasn’t present to answer them. I can see how my absence made XYZ Company question our credibility as an efficient software systems solutions company. I take full responsibility for my absence and lack of communication on the same. My decision to not advise anyone on my absence was unprofessional and did not meet the standards that you expect of me as a professional and colleague.

I value our professional relationships and regret that my behavior communicated otherwise. I would therefore like to resolve this situation as soon as possible. I have drafted a comprehensive document on the technical aspects of the project that can be sent to XYZ Company as soon as possible. I’m also open to meeting with XYZ Company to personally go through the document with them and address any concerns that they may have.

I’m embarrassed to have put us in this situation and would like to reaffirm my commitment to maintaining professionalism and doing my part towards achieving the organization’s goals. Please accept my apologies.

Sincerely,

[your name]
