Issues for the Adopted Child, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 228

Essay

There is no definitive contingency when it comes to identity. It is a phenomenon breed from a bio-psycho-social trifecta. Thus, it takes elements from all three in order to form what is collectively known as a person’s identity. There may be a beginning, middle, and end to these components, but by the time a person reaches an age of self-awareness, such distinctions are obsolete. Thus, when studying one part of an identity, it is important to study the range of influences that enforce that identity. These ranges of influences may most certainly be applied to adoption. Thus, when the issue of adoption is researched, it’s important to research this trifecta along with other contingencies, and research questions. Adults who were adopted as children may struggle with issues related to self-esteem, personal identity, and grief associated with the lost of biological parents. This paper will be broken down into the following aforesaid sections: self-esteem, personal identity, and grief. Each section will be comprised of a bio, psycho, and social influence in order to secure the most broad-ranging of approaches so that proper, inclusive research can lead to this definitive thesis statement. The paper will seek to prove that loss of biological parents influence a person as showcased in these sections and with these elements.
