Just Web Internet Company, Essay Example

Pages: 4

Words: 1002

Essay

Just Web Internet Company is committed to continued business success in an ever advancing technological e-Commerce marketplace. Currently, customers are provided with many resources that promote purchasing from e-Commerce organizations; however, the marketing campaign for Just Web must be conducted in a manner that informs the consumers of our products and influences them to visit our site of operations. Roughly 30% of small businesses claim that overall e-Commerce sales will continue to increase (Small Business Research Board, 2007).  This trend is showing no signs of slowing and must be taken advantage for the betterment of this company’s future.

Consumers will be provided a unique experience at our technological web site unlike any other e-Commerce organization. Online ordering is a key function, but it must be made quick and easy for the customer to process while still remaining safe and secure.  Furthermore, the marketing campaign, look of the website and buyer feedback must promote trust and reliability for Just Web Internet Company.  This will speak to the customer and influence new buyers to make purchases while influencing previous buyers to continuing making purchases.  The look and feel of the web site must use the most modern technological resources and maintain an easy-to-navigate functionality.  This company seeks to appeal to all demographics without regard to location, age, race or sex.

The success of this company will be geared around the first managerial element of planning.  To prepare for the future growth of the e-Commerce industry and to face future challenges head-on, managers must continually plan to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of company operations. Planning helps to create a business system for improved communications, address future uncertainties, and promote profitable operations (McNamara, 1997). The benefits of planning are important to the success of this company.  Furthermore, the managerial staff must also determine the specific company and departmental objectives that best suit the company’s goals and mission statement. Finally, managers must review and analyze the plan to create changes wherever necessary (“Importance of Effective Management”, n.d.).  No plan is fool-proof and as external or internal factors change, so too much the plans within the company.

However, planning not simply enough.  The managerial staff must utilize all necessary resources to take the plans created and agreed upon and effectively implement them. The best plan is a plan of action, not a plan that is great on paper but poorly implemented. Managers must communicate the plan to all employees.  The employees must buy in to the plan and work hard to achieve the goals of the company.  Managers must create, communicate and implement the plan accordingly.  Without doing so, the best plans are not conducive to company profits, improved production or efficient operations.

Planning is critical; however, managers must be prepared to organize the available resources to promote the smooth transition and implementation of the plan.  The manager must choose which tasks are important to properly implement and execute the plan.  This process ensures that the company’s operating activities are determined and company resources are delegated appropriately to execute all of the specific company tasks (“Importance of Effective Management”, n.d.).

Managers must be able to assign roles and responsibilities to employees while also positioning the company’s non-personnel resources to be used properly.  All office supplies and merchandising resources must be used intelligently and efficiently.  Errors in the organization of departmental and company resources will cost Just Web Internet Company thousands of dollars in annual profits every year.  This managerial function is highly important and must be taken seriously.

Perhaps the greatest component of a successful business venture is the element of effective leadership within the company.  At Just Web Internet Company, leadership is not limited solely to a position of power as a manager.  Instead, this company learns from the examples of the greatest leaders in United States history such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and President Kennedy who fought to challenge the status quo and voice their thoughts and opinions.  There is nothing that states that leadership means that a person is in charge of people (McCrimmon, 2008).  Instead, through acts of motivation and inspiration, leadership must be cultivated within the company.

Managers at Just West Internet Company must encourage and promote acts of leadership by all of the company’s employees.  In other to promote a working environment conducive to procuring the best forms of leadership, managers must only use their positions of power to motivate and encourage employees while obtaining desired work results.  Managers must never lead by discriminating, degrading or restricting the growth of another employee.  These actions are against the nature of this company and will only do more harm than good.

Finally, the managerial staff must also conduct ongoing evaluations and implement control activities to ensure that company operations are being conducted effectively.  The managers must assess production and monitor employee and departmental performance as compared to the set standards of the company (“Importance of Effective Management”, n.d.).  This continuous evaluation is important because it helps to point out errors in production within the company.  Managers must be able to notice and examine these errors in order to make appropriate adjustments to the plan, organizational resources or leadership within the company.

The control function of management is critical because it ensures that all other functions are being conducted properly and works to ensure company production and profits are maintained at high standards.  However, managers must not perform this function haphazardly as it will likely force inefficiencies and errors to be overlooked.  If variances within the company’s operations occur, appropriate changes must be implemented immediately in coordination with all other functions.  The managers are critical to the success of the company, and the control function ensures that all other steps and processes are being conducted properly.
