Essay

KORAN | Have we not lifted up your heart and relieved you of your burden, which weighed down your back? Have we not given you high renown? With hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease. When you have completed your task resume your toil and seek your Lord with all fervour. { Surah 94, Solace – Ashsharh }

This passage suggests that the Prophet was troubled about some of the obstacles that Allah put in his way. It related to a message that he was entrusted with and certain plots that were being hatched against it.  These troubles weighed heavy on the prophet who wanted help.  The prophet Muhammad was delivering the message of the Quran from Allah to his people, hence he was given high renown to the people on Earth.  He was exalted by making his name synonymous with Allah as the messenger of God.  Muhammad was to be associated with the vine way of life through prayer expressed in his name to the peace and love of Allah to his people.  The passage describes the link between mortality and eternity and the passage of rites associated with enduring the burdens of this world to find ease and eternal rest in the comfort of belief in Allah.

SAADI | A raindrop dripping from a cloud, was ashamed when it saw the sea. Who am I where there is a sea? It said, when it saw itself with the eye of humility, a shell nurtured in its embrace.

A useful comparison being there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on all the beaches of the world.  Your place in life is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Yet we all stand equal before the eyes of god;  Man feels humbled before God when he examines his own position before all that god has created in the Universe.  The similarity is that God cares for all souls and sees beyond the holistic vision he has created.  Man must seek out his creator and embrace the doctrines that exalt him in his earthly existence.
