Laser Tattoo Removal, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 295

Essay

It was just a matter of time before an effective tattoo removal treatment would emerge due to the ‘permanent’ nature of tattoos and laser tattoo removal fits the bill. It is also possible that laser tattoo removal may further encourage tattoos trend because people will have the comfort of idea that it is now possible to remove tattoos should they have a change of heart. But one should do proper research before going for a tattoo because even laser treatment has limitations and/or side effects.

First of all, certain colors such as blue and green are difficult to remove. Similarly, not all tattoo artists or even tattoo removal services are equal, thus, risks and results may vary. Laser tattoo removal may give the feeling of a quick, painless solution but the removal process is lengthy and not entirely painless at the same time. Most tattoos need multiple treatments and weeks may be involved between sessions. The process may be even more troublesome for newer tattoos which are more difficult to remove. Tattoo removal process may be unsuitable for individuals with certain characteristics or circumstances such as pregnant women, people going through radiation therapy, and those taking certain medications etc. (Kennedy).

I have watched laser tattoo removal videos and some individuals describe it as light electric shocks or the snapping of rubber bands against skin. In addition, it is not uncommon for the skin to become reddish and sensitive. It seems that laser tattoo removal has the potential to give false sense of security but education is the key and knowledge about laser tattoo removal may also be helpful to those thinking of getting a tattoo for the first time.
