Strategic Leadership for Exploration and Exploitation: The Moderating Role of Environmental Dynamism

The article written by Jansen, Vera and Crossan intends to define the condition of leadership especially related to the capacity of management to provide a continuous process by which the employees tend to perform better every step of the way. This particular research explores the capacity of strategic leadership in establishing a more responsive approach to the process of influencing others who are underdeveloped when it comes to performing better for the company. Through developing the learning curve for the employees, evaluating the conceptual condition of weakness among employees is suggested through the context of this particular research.

Balancing the effect of the environment with the condition of leadership that the managers impose on the team members is observed to have a great impact on how people respond to particular directions by the appointed leaders. To create a foundation for reference, the researchers of this study intended to get the data from 89 executive directors of different financial firms. All in their autonomous position of leadership, the said participants and their relative performance that affects the performance of the other employees have been better presented herein.

This article provides a definite source of competence especially in exploring the proper procedures of applying the concept of strategic management especially when it comes to involving the process by which the elements of the environment are further regulated to create a considerable impact on the process of development that an organization takes into account. Following the theory of defining organizational behavior from the different elements that actually accentuate the consideration of leadership that further characterizes the business, this article provides a careful glimpse on what management is about and how it should be undergone by individual appointed under the said position.

The article’s strength could be identified alongside the fact that the data collected from the research were systematically presented that even novice readers who have low to no idea of what management and leadership is would have a better idea on what the process is all about. However, it could have been better if the information presented were validated with up to date cases that could further relate the consideration over the need to establish strategic management as a form of leadership applied in an organization. It is through this that the realization of the factual evidence could better strengthen the process by which leadership and the different phases of its advancements could be better defined through research procedures.

In conclusion, leadership and organizational learning have been found to have a directed condition by which the leaders are able to make a specific definition on the path that the employees are to take especially when it comes to progress and development. Strategically defined leadership is expected to place a colossal effect on the overall condition of advancement that the entire organization aims to undergo. The effectiveness of strategic leadership have been further measured through the performance of the entire organization which is better shown through the profit and the increased stock shares of the business in the international market.
