With the way the economy is today it is ideal for a company to go lean and green. Being a lean company will help the company cut costs and save money. Being green helps the company help the environment. It is important that companies choose to be lean and green today.

When a company says that they are lean they are referring to how they are ordering products and how they are cutting costs an being a lean company means that the company is only purchasing exactly what they need; no more, no less. A company will choose to be a lean company in an unstable economy to protect themselves from any unnecessary losses, going lean and buying only what is needed could potentially save the company from bankruptcy or any other negative losses. When a company decides to go lean they are making a commitment to buy only enough materials to make the exact amount of product that is being demanded, this is the long term could potentially save the business and keep their product running.

Being a green company means that the company has chosen to help the environment and make changes inside of the company to help the outside environment. Many companies have become green companies adapting new ways to do things and to reuse things. Some companies that have gone green have started to turn their discarded oil into water and electricity for their company, some companies have started recycling any materials that can be recycled, some companies reuse items that can be reused, and so many more things have been brought into many companies to help preserve the environment. Many companies everyday come up with new and inventive ways to help the environment and be a green company.

If a company chooses to be lean and make the commitment to spend only what is absolutely needed to be spent, when the economy is bad, then they are protecting their investment and potentially saving their business. When a company chooses to be green they are choosing to make choices to help the environment and potentially cut internal costs by finding ways to reuse certain items. When a company is choosing to be lean and green they are choosing to spend only what is needed and to make a difference in the environment as well, lean and green companies can truly make a difference to the economy and the environment
