Letter to Mr. Michael J Fox, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 316

Essay

Dear Mr. Fox,

You are an outstanding actor whose work speaks for itself. Thousands of viewers adored you in Midnight Madness (1980) and Class of 1984 (1982). Although we are fans of your acting career, we are even more supportive of your fight against Parkinson’s disease which is why we would be honored to have you as our guest of honor and speaker at our event.

As a person who values straightforwardness and direction, you will appreciate our organization’s transparency when discussing the disease. While some believe that Parkinson’s disease is a silent killer that should remain a secret, we operate under the notion of awareness. Our organization carries the ultimate goal of informing everyone of the dangers and symptoms of the disease and spreading awareness about treatment along with possible prevention methods. The upcoming event that you are petitioned to attend is primarily focused on distributing knowledge about Parkinson’s disease to the general public.

Mr. Fox, we are fully aware of your compacted schedule that rarely allows you to make special appearances. With a flourishing acting career and foundational efforts it becomes difficult to tend to everyone’s needs. However, we believe that a cure for Parkinson’s disease is on the horizons and we want you to be a part of the triumph.

Parkinson’s disease affects thousands every year regardless of social standing. Although not classified as a deadly infection like AIDS, Parkinson’s disease is an illness that should not be ignored. We believe that knowledge is power and individuals who have more of it will choose to live healthier lives. As a person who thinks logically, we know that your contribution to our efforts will only propel us and the entire Parkinson’s disease movement forward. It is for this reason that we ask you to attend and speak at our upcoming awareness event. We would be honored to have you grace us with your presence and words of wisdom.
