Letter to the Judge, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 261

Essay

I am writing this letter to express my deepest concerns for your reconsideration of the decision of the honorable court to deny bond to a defendant named Christopher Whitfield. Christopher Whitfield has appeared today in this courtroom as a defendant and at the moment, available court records are a good source of information for the defendant and I am therefore convinced that he is known to you as being linked to criminal allegations leveled against him. I am made to believe that Christopher Whitfield has been labeled a flight risk and a threat to the community. However, I had little information concerning the stipulation for the issued warrant which ultimately has not been disclosed to the defendant. It is my humble submission to this honorable court that, the defendant, Christopher Whitfield is not in any way a flight risk. I also submit that, Christopher Whitfield does not pose any significant danger to the community which is a basis to persuade the court to deny him bond. On the same note, the defendant does not pose any danger to national security. I therefore submit to the honorable court that, the defendant should not be misconstrued as a person who would evade court attendance even in the situation that he is released under the credibility of a third party. The defendant is not for the opinion to be granted an immediate bond hearing and shall therefore require substantial time to gather sufficient evidence in preparation for the case. Your honor, I therefore request the court to schedule a bond hearing for the defendant.
