This paper shall evaluate on how one would use quantitative, qualitative and mixed methodology research design to be able to pursue lifespan development. Lifespan development is based on explorations of cognitive, psychosocial and biological which do occur across different periods of life. Such occurrences in life would be supported by use of quantitative, qualitative and a mixture of research methodology.

Different research approach has different positive attributes. Hence, a combination of different research methods and approach would make it more diversified and effective in lifespan development. Use of quantitative research methods it evaluates in aspects of life which has physical sciences aspect in life which are designed to ensure reliability, generalizability and objectivity (McGraw-Hill, 2007). The research participants are selected in unbiased manner by random selection methods. It is mainly used for research which evaluates on needs assessment at different levels of development.

Qualitative research methodology provides an understanding of situations and culture of people at different stages of development. The research is done by interviewing, observations and use of different focus groups at different levels of development. The researchers are able to understand the underlying behavioral characteristic during different stages of development. It also helps on predictability of changes in behavior which is associated with increasing age. Children changes dramatically from birth to adulthood and they undergo different developmental stages which use both qualitative and quantitative methods to fully understand how such development changes over in lifespan.

During development all children must pass though the same order of development to adulthood. Therefore, use of research on a certain group findings would be used in improvement on development of another age group in the same development stage. According to Kasworm, (2003) development of an individual relate to others in social world in the different stages of development which include Neonatal Period Infancy, Early childhood, Middle childhood, Adolescence and adulthood which the different research methodology would dwell on to socialite information which will improve in development at every stage.
