Essay

The materials read confirmed that all sins are punishable eventually. The position is that all acts of sin do not go unpunished and that the sinful individuals always given an opportunity to redeem themselves and see the light. Religion in these cases become associated with the morals of the society, and morals based on religion. Religion in these works seen in the belief in a higher being who is powerful. The works here bring out the confirmation that heroism associated with the smartest and heroes are those people who do well and admired. Heroism associates to what the general population belief in and is a just act according to them. The other aspect that brought out as a confirmation is the aspect of salvation. This is where opportunity by one given a second shot due to a change in attitude or character. Salvation in this case confirmed as characters in the works as they become led back to righteousness and given a second chance. However, the aspect that complicated further is that of destiny. In the works, the aspect of destiny as at time the actions of individuals destined and they believe in destiny while, on the other hand, some characters work hard to alter destiny.

Hamlet

Hamlet portrayed as a contemplative and philosophical character. The point in which the life of Hamlet would be changed or enlightened by the events is when he discovers that his uncle killed his father. He becomes obsessed with questions that cannot be answered with certainty. The life of Hamlet would change since it changes his perception of his uncle and even further disappointed by his mother when she marries the uncle. Hamlet perception of things change at this point he enlightened by the events. The work in this case would be useful to the reader as it sets out as the origin of Hamlets character later in the work. The event marks the turning point of the character which goes to develop the plot of the work. This event marks as the characters departure point. The character developed by these events and is where hamlet voices his concern for the state of affairs.

Dante

The point where there should be enlightenment is where Dante loses his true path and his path to God obstructed by sin. The same lead Dante to avert sin and finds Gods love. According to (Lannuci 88) the sin committed by Dante is what makes him turn around. The experiences by Dante on the results of sin are the things that inspire him to seek Gods love (Edmunds 97). The work here would be beneficial as it shows the transition of Dante. The work also brings out the changing character of Dante and aims at attaining a closing to the work. The work here aimed at showing the person reading it that Dante is capable of change.

Oedipus

The point in the work that stands out is when Oedipus narrates the story of killing a band of travelers. He accuses them of trying to push him off from a three way crossroad. This event portrays that the swift actions of Oedipus has a negative side. The rush behavior is what leads to his down fall. The rush behavior accredited to his aspiration to catch up with his fate (Edmunds 26).  The work of Dante is useful as it helps the character reading the work to see the results of rush actions. The event that acts as a turning point is what helps the person reading the work to understand the character of Oedipus. The character of Oedipus is reliant on this work as it tries to bring out the character of Oedipus which would later show the results of his actions.

Gilgamesh

The work that portrays Gilgamesh pivots itself in the change of the character of Gilgamesh due to the death of Enkidu.  Gilgamesh mourns for the loss and is himself depressed by the thought of his own death. This event leads Gilgamesh to aim at learning the secret of eternal life. The outcome of the quest is the reconciliation with his mortality. This ends up with Gilgamesh changing his behavior and taking his place as a better leader. The works would be meaningful to the character reading the work as it brings out the character of Gilgamesh and later his change of character. Jackson (80) states that the work is also notable as it acts as the central point of the entire work. The events lead to the advancement of the plot of the work and are the central point of the work.
