The fact that the correction system is lacking proper efficiency can be seen from the increased incarceration rate in the country and its reoccurrence after the prisoner’s release. Among widely spoken issues are such drawbacks of current system as overcrowding in prisons, lack of proper training and rehabilitation programs, light sentences, too comfortable conditions in prisons, etc. However, one of the most critical concerns is early prison release and paroles.

There are a number of duties and tasks that should be completed by and for prisoners and their improvements as individuals inside jail. But when offender is being released, that is the time when he/she re-enters back into society. Is it a very complex and responsible step and change in their lives and maybe lives of people around them. Early prison release and paroles are considered to be among reasons of crime rate increase in the country. It is explained by the improper and not substantial rehabilitation and self-preparedness to re-enter the community.  Thus, it causes danger to society.

It is very difficult to prepare an ideal forecast on how the offender will behave outside or jail and sometimes there is a lack of recognition how dangerous some of the prisoners still are. There is a number of risk assessment instruments used as an integral part of parole decision making that help estimate the risks and likelihood of an individual committing future crimes. However, it is important to note that each person’s behaviors apart from patterns, is highly individual. Therefore, there should be more attention paid to the situation. For instance, when a criminal is being released because of the overcrowding in jail, who guarantees that he\she received enough training and treatment to be considered totally safe for the community? Lack of adequate funding for prisons sometimes causes terrible tragedies. In order to improve the current situation it is essential to increase the availability of the treatment programs and supervision of offenders. Through complex targeted, evidence-based parole initiatives offenders can be released with proper regulation, ensuring public safety. There should be a more effective collaboration between parole system, state government and local law enforcement.
