Continued Investigation of the Malaysian Airlines MH17 Crash

Even though Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crashed on July 17, 2014, emergency technicians and Ukrainian government investigators continue to dig up the remains of passengers. It is possible that doing so will allow the government to gather more evidence to determine the events that led up to the likely shooting of the plane. More evidence is necessary to be clear about how and why the plane was shot down, in addition to the possible miscommunications that could have contributed to this disaster. Although this plane crash could have been a complete accident, it was likely political in nature, although the Russian, Ukrainian, and Malaysian governments have yet to come forward to take blame for or to further discuss the incident.

Unlike Malaysia Airline Flight MH 370, we have the ability to solve the mystery of this second crash due to the physical evidence that has been gathered. Starting 12 hours ago on November 1, 2014, authorities claimed that they have collected the last of the human remains that were present at the crash site (CNN 1). It may be possible for anthropologists to piece together new evidence as a result and to investigate events that led up to the shooting. It will also be necessary for the Ukrainian police to collaborate with the Russian and Malaysian governments to determine the technology flaws that could have contributed to the lack of communication with the airplane.

In conclusion, this is an important international issue because many countries, including the United States, are having disagreements with Russia. It would be interesting to determine if the Russian government shot down the airplane intentionally in order to gain power over the Ukrainian territory. It would therefore be useful to analyze this news story to determine if there is any evidence that indicates whether or not this is the case.
