Management: Suggestions, Essay Example

Words: 361

Essay

I have been working for an organization for about 3 years now and was satisfied with its overall performance and the position I occupy. However, during the last year our company has been experiencing major changes in terms of leadership structure and management shifting. As a result, it affected the overall unity of the company and its employees in particular, as well as its organization and goal setting. However, there still possible ways for directing company’s resources towards its recovery, successful goal and vision setting.

First I would suggest determining the primary and fundamental norms and values of the organization. Each and every employee must know and always remember the essence of the company, why it was created and what it is aimed for. Consequently, the employees will encompass these corporate values and direct them towards organizational success.

My second suggestion would be the implementation of sufficient communication within the organization. It happened that our organization experienced a huge communication breakdown, and it is still occurring. To start from the top, stakeholders have not received a constructive report regarding organization’s future goals and plans. The top level management does not have any constructive ideas or suggestions to present in front of the board. I think all this troubles appeared as a result of communication breakdown. In order to incorporate a strong vision for the company, it must set up an effective communication chain. Low level employees must communicate their ideas to their supervisors, supervisors to managers, and up to the board and stockholders. Management must consider the ideas and suggestions of each and every employee. I would also suggest handling meetings at different levels with upper management participating in them.

Another valuable thing to do would be defining and focusing on the purpose and mission of our organization. We must not only prioritize earning money and gaining profit, but also remember what we are doing. If we are delivering and maintaining medical equipment, then we must focus on it and direct all our efforts in that direction.
