Managing Across Borders and Cultures, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 662

Essay

Growth and expansion of Google Company have been faced many problems in countries like Japan, France, and Germany. It is because of the dominance of the United States in offering Google information as compared to other local cultures. The problems resulted in the emergence of some issue including copyright and censorship. The major problem in the issue of copyrights and trademark counterfeiting is scanning properties and materials of other people and making them accessible online (Deresky 2011). For example, the company publishes materials like those that books, thesis, and others research online without permission and approval from the owners. The violation is referred to copyright infringement because the owners of the properties and materials found online are not familiar with the business. However, it affects the sales carried out by the owners of the materials and properties because customers go for the free materials online instead of buying them from the owners.

Another issue affecting Google expansion is censorship. Google Company edits any information searched before releasing it to the public. As a result of the editing process, some of the information which individuals, companies, organizations, and even countries are trying to release to the public or customers are suppressed. It is due to the laws put in place to analyze any information fit for the public. The company is criticized for making its expansion and growth to be difficult. In the current world, Internet technology has remained an important factor to be considered in every kind of business.

Google Company employs internet technology in every operation and services offering the customers. At first, it was only a search engine, but it has expanded to offer advertising space to various entrepreneurs. Through Google Company, various entrepreneurs can advertise their products and services through ads and other advertising Medias. The company has expanded to offer search results in various languages using the Ad words. In addition, with the help of Google, various companies and individuals can track products supplied to know their locations and status as they wait in various destinations (Helft & Barboza 2010).

Customer relation offered by Google Company is not influenced by customer perceptions. The company works independently by considering and incorporating some of the consumers opinions in the process of decision-making. As a result, customer relations offered by Google Company have influenced innovations made by different organizations. The internet can be used to expand global operations through the development of E-commerce. It is the process of making any business transaction online without travelling to various destinations or geographical areas.

In the current digital world where every transaction is conducted online, e-commerce is the best option, which is targeted by many individuals and business organizations. It is because the option of e-commerce reduces many expenses, which could lead to losses incurred by the entrepreneurs. Expenses like travelling and accommodation are eliminated because the supplier, the customer communication, and the goods are supplied and monitored on the way. E-Commerce is expanding each year in different countries because buyer’s preference, laws, and framework is developing ( Steiber& Alänge 2013).

Laws and the buyer preference help in protecting customers and suppliers in various geographical areas. Since Google Company is facing intense competition from other companies, it should expand its operations and services offering such that it can attract the attention of government and other organizations. It will assist the company to have a wide market, which will increase its sales leading to automatic increase in profits. The company should analyze and survey customer needs such that it can offer what will satisfy the customers. It can be achieved by considering customer’s opinions and incorporating them when making decisions about what should be offered to the customers.
