There are a number of concepts that a Medical Assisting student must be responsive of and follow. When student has an equation problem that has one procedure, it would surely require you to follow it in a certain order. When using a calculator to solve the algebraic problems, a student will have to enter the operations in the appropriate order, to avoid wrong answers to the equation (Davis, 1968). When a student finds it hard to operate the algebraic equations, the formulae PEMDAS can help. Where by the student can start with parentheses, followed with exponentiation, then multiplication, division, addition and finish it up with subtraction.
Algebra is used in the Medical Assisting career to work out real problems. Consequently, to solve genuine life problems, you have to interpret the facts of the genuine life problem into an algebraic expression, so the problem can be worked out. An algebraic expression only affirms the problem, but it does not solve the problem. You can only solve the problem through an algebraic equation. You must not find expression and equation mixed up. Each concept is thoroughly explored with examples and assignments to give the student the ability to become proficient in the each subject. And to move from one concept to the next as the understanding is gained. Along with the ability to full understand any practical application that related to each concept. This makes the concepts more interesting and relevant to the student’s situation, thus making this course of study to be applied to more than just one classroom. It can easily be seen as to the way it can work in so many other areas of experience (Davis, 1968). This is something the teacher making sure that each student will know such information.
The methodology used to assist students in assimilating these concepts is varied and most helpful. It has as an ultimate goal the desire to be sure every student is able to comprehend each concept with as little difficulty as possible. And teachers make that part of their effort as well. Each concept will be fully covered with adequate resources so the knowledge does get passed on in a way that is truly helpful. And thus even though the concepts can be complicated in some cases they will be made simple with the assistant provided (Titon, 1993).
The succeeding idea you have to pact with is that algebra and other types of algebra deal with inequalities and equalities. You might not at all times have an equivalent sign to the right of an algebraic expression. Every now and then you will deal with inequalities, so you may have an equal to or more than, or an equal to or less than sign, or you may have just more than or less than signs in your equations. Any negative number summed up to the same number of on the positive side will at all time be zero, like -9 +9 = 0. If you are adding two negative numbers, you will still have a negative, but if you are summing negatives and positive, the sum will depend on which number was bigger. An example of adding up problems of differing signs is: – 3 + 6 = 3, and-9 + 2 = 7. When adding like signs, the signs keep on the same; for example, -9 + -9 = -18, and of course the reverse is true, 9 + 9 = 18, which is positive. Multiplication is something else exclusively. When multiplying a positive and a negative number you will always get a negative outcome, and if you multiply two negatives you will get a positive number as your answer (Titon,1993). Statisticians scrutinize data in two unreliable ways, exploratory methods and assenting methods.
