McDonald’s has set the standard of being the best fast food restaurants. Their quality of food, speed of service, and pricing are factors that have all aided in their success. This restaurant’s accomplishments cannot be attributed to a single aspect. Many of their practices and qualities have to be considered. Analyzing the value added services for McDonalds will show the many variables that have made McDonalds the best fast food place to stop.

There are many value added services for McDonald’s that has played a role in their popularity. Sometimes a person may not want the traditional hamburger and fries, this fast food conglomerate responded by created other options. They added a healthier selection to their menus. The chicken sandwiches and nuggets provide an alternative to the many different burger choices on the menu. They also have many different types of salads to choose from. Some of these salads have fruits, meats, and a generous selection of dressing choices. This is a great value for the individuals who are health-conscious but still need to eat on the go. Even healthier sides are available instead of the high-calorie fries. This includes apples, side salads, and yogurt.

Another value added service is breakfast. This is known to be the most important meal of the day, and sometimes a cold bowl of cereal will not suffice. McDonalds addressed this demand with hot, quick breakfast sandwiches. The customer can pick from a muffin, biscuit, or bagel. They can choose egg, cheese, and they type of meat they prefer on their sandwich. They also have a big breakfast, for the hungry individual wanting all the options, without the sit-down restaurant wait. They also offer orange juice and coffee which adds to overall breakfast experience, or it can be enjoyed all by itself. McDonalds recognized that many of their consumers drink coffee all day long, and made that menu item available any time.

Starbucks is just one of the many coffee houses known for their high-priced specialty drinks. McDonalds made options for their consumers to enjoy such beverages at a fraction of the price. They created a value-added service of cold and hot café drinks. These include frappes, lattes, hot chocolate, and iced coffees. They are served in mocha and caramel, topped with whip cream. Same great taste as the big coffee houses but often more convenient and cost efficient. This provides the customer an opportunity to pick up their food with their favorite café drink in just one stop.

McDonalds also realized that price is an important part of the value added services. They created a value menu for individuals to enjoy the great food they crave, for only a dollar. This gives many people the option to pick up a coke or a burger for a small cost. The menu has value priced items for breakfast as well as the regular menu selections. It consists of drinks, sandwiches, and deserts available for only one dollar. It is a great option to chose one, or add an item on to a value meal.

Analyzing the value added services for McDonalds will show the many variables that have made McDonalds the best fast food place to stop. The vast variety of menu items provides options for every type of taste. The healthier choices provide additional value as well. Their warm, fast breakfast and café style drinks start thousands of individual’s days off right. Finally, the value menu offers a great option for the individuals on a tight budget but still craves the great taste of McDonalds. The value added services has been a vital factor in McDonalds overall success.
