Subject: Recommendations From Other Marketing Managers

With the interest of propagating our company’s success given the current economic state, I sought workable marketing strategies from other marketing managers in the industry.

On noticing the successes of our colleague food brokers in the industry during recent economic recession, I made up a step to approach my fellow executive marketing managers in the three colleague food broker about the overall marketing issue. With their help, I was able to realize that while it is important to launch a highly aggressive advertisement campaign to enhance the success a company, other options exist; by combining a few options as inventory control can make us decrease our companies expenses. Adding new services and products would help the consumer to do their shopping in one place saving them time and using a coupon and rebate program can help them save money as well.

In our discussions, I was able to come up with two major marketing strategies that are very crucial and have been the underground secrete of our colleagues yielding their earlier on witnessed successes.

Provision of a Variety of Products

For the effects of the recent recession, we need to be more vigilant with any marketing strategy that we implement to ensure that we lead this company to a national level. I realized that it is of great importance if a company invests so much in providing a variety of quality products under one roof so that their customers will save time on visiting many shops or companies looking for different kinds of goods and services. According to Manfred & Murali (2005), this idea makes the company achieve a number of factors to its advantage:

  • Maximize revenues.
  • Increase reliability and trust of its customers.
  • Save its customers time.
  • Increases the company’s market share.
  • Ensures that customers have a variety to choose from.

Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is when companies and individuals use social networks that include facebook, You Tube, Twitter and many others for sales, public relations, customer service and marketing. I found it very applicable to our business since these social networks will help us catch more of the young generation. These are the people who have been in most cases found to be the ones spending much of their time in using the social networks especially Facebook. Dave (2008) says that the process of using this strategy can be carried out in three ways:

  • Creating buzz, blog entries, or news worthy events that attract attention.
  • Creating ways through which fans of a particular company or brand can promote it themselves through the social media networks.
  • The marketing process in this strategy has to bare conversational characteristics since it is operating on a social network.

Therefore, in general terms there are many result proving strategies in marketing but the major ones and most applicable to our company that can help us steer our way to greater heights of success are:

  • Increasing the number of goods and services offered under one roof.
  • Social media marketing

Recommendations

From these ideas that I was able to pull from my colleagues on the most successful marketing strategies, I recommend that our company implements all the four categories of marketing strategy. Our company will do it well if we invested in providing a variety of food staffs in large quantities such that customers visiting our company will find all the different varieties that they need. This will help us keep these customers and attract even more of them. We should encourage buying in bulk so as to protect our retail customers. The eventual outcome will be that our company will not only compete favorably with the other three companies in the market, but will also increase its market share considerably. We will also be able to prove to our customers that we are reliable.

We need to take advantage of the social networks especially facebook as it is the most popular amongst the youths. This move will help attract a large share of the market as modernization has made it possible that majority of the youth are registered on the site and they are also the majority of the population.
