Pages: 1

Words: 283

Essay

Project management refers to the act of managing change. Project management describes activities that can meet certain objectives and can improve or introduce existing or new services and products in organizations. Methods used in project management vary, from project to project, and from organization to organization.

The organization I serve uses Method 123 Project Management Methodology (MPMM). This methodology enables setting out the whole project cycle in a systematic manner thus allowing the organization’s team to use the same process of project management. This methodology carries examples and practical templates that can help one import and create customized methodologies of project management. MPMM contains 1500 tasks, tables, charts and examples that help in guiding people towards project success. It contains all the project management templates, checklists and forms, in addition to an entire project, management process.

Project managers need a methodology for project management to help keep projects on track and steer them in the right direction. They also need it in the management of projects in a structured and repeatable fashion. In this way, a manager can employ the same approach in executing any other project of the organization.

MPMM is a well working methodology worth adopting in organizations. It is distinct as it is according to the worldwide project management standards; Prince2® and PMBOK®. MPMM’s suitability for all project sizes and types also differentiates the methodology regardless of the industry in which a person works. MPMM methodology as a project management software can help one navigate the methodology easily and quickly. One can choose to customize the methodology for an organization or apply the methodology straight. The methodology can also be suitable in the creation of new methodologies of project management and processes.
